Homeroom:
Math:As we approach the end of the third quarter, students are finishing up their last few units in iCurio. It is recommended that students regularly check their grades in Blackboard to keep apprised of the assignments that they need to complete prior to the end of the quarter. Students should be going back and watching videos from their earlier iCurio unit to review what we did this quarter. We will be reviewing the week of March 7 and the first few days of EOQ week. Students who are absent should be continuing to work on their IXL's and Ten Marks lessons. Both of these digital activities are great ways to get immediate feedback on your progress and understanding. Science:Students have started a new unit in Science pertaining to the Earth and its structures. Students will be focusing on the following standards over the next few weeks:
6.E.2.1 Summarize and describe: -the structure of the earth’s layers based on their relative position. -the composition of each layer of the earth. -the earth’s layers according to density. 6.E.2.2 Explain: -how crustal plates and ocean basins are formed, move and interact using earthquakes to reflect forces within the earth, and move and interact using convection currents -how interactions between the lithosphere and asthenoshpere form volcanoes. 6.E.2.3 Explain: -how the formation of soil is related to the parent rock type and the environment in which it develops. 6.E.2.4 Conclude: -the good health of humans requires monitoring the lithosphere (stewardship), maintaining soil quality (stewardship).
