Homeroom:Math:Today in Math students played a game called 4x4 in which they practiced answering ratio and proportions questions with their peers. They then took their CFA for Ratios and Proportions and were introduced to the unit on Percents. Students should be defining their new vocabulary from the percents unit for homework. Science:Science class started of with an activity called Quiz, Quiz, Trade in which students reviewed their information on the periodic table. Students then worked with their partner to complete the lab report for the edible molecule lab they performed last week.

HomeroomDec. 18 - Last Day Before Winter Break (Full Day this year...please plan accordingly) Dec. 21 - Jan. 1 - Winter Break Jan. 4 - Return to School MathThis week in math, students practiced finding equivalent ratios, unit rates and using ratio tables to solve real world problems. Next week we will be finishing up with the last two standards of the quarter: 6.RP.3c Find a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100 and solve problems involving finding the whole, given a part and the percent. 6.RP.3d. Use ratio reasoning to convert measurement units; manipulate and transform units appropriately when multiplying or dividing quantities. ScienceWow, have we had a super busy week in science. In addition to our unit on the periodic table and understanding elements, students have started to delve into the process of their Gateway Project. We have been finalizing our topics, reflecting on our first quarter experiences with our Genius Hour projects and starting to learn about the process of research and using good research tools.
