Homeroom:Each student should have a "letter from the teacher" in their book bag. Please remind your child to share their letter with you. I still have a few students that have not turned in their signed Blue Classroom contract and their Title I compact. These forms need to be brought in on Tuesday, PLEASE. Math:

Homeroom:
Math:Students work on completing their Moby Max pre-assessments, iReady pre-assessments, Figure me out posters and 5th grade review task cards. I reinforced to my classes today that students must show their work for all math assignments. In 6th grade, students will do multi-step problems. It is important to show your work all of the time so that I can determine where and when mistakes are being made. Some students have chosen to bring in a picture rather then draw a self portrait on their figure me out posters. Picture must be brought to school tomorrow. Science:Students have been working on materials related to learning and understanding Scientific Method. Students may want to use the materials below to update their Science interactive notebooks.
Homeroom:Math:Students have been working on completing preassessments digitally in Moby Max and iReady to provide baseline placements for grouping and individualized work. Some students have also been working on 5th grade review task cards. Tomorrow we will be creating "Figure me out" posters. More to come on this tomorrow. Science:Yesterday students completed an interest survey and learning style survey. We will be using the information from the surveys when we complete our labs at the end of the week for Scientific Placement.
First day of schoolToday was a fabulous first day of school. We spent the day getting to know each other and doing some fun first day activities. In the picture below, students are filling out their "find someone who" sheets. Just a reminder, students that did not finish the time capsule sheet should complete it and bring it in tomorrow morning so that I can add your photo to it.
