MathToday's Homework and classwork challenge: ScienceQuarterly notebook check Tuesday, October 20th. This may be presented in the digital science port folio or a tangible science journal - student's choice. Be sure to include all notes, vocabulary words and definitions and classwork projects. All vocabulary words can be found in the curio science units.

MathMrs. Eisenhofer forgot to pass out the homework before early release. Enjoy a free night on me. But, be prepared to work extra hard tomorrow!! ScienceEcosystems and food webs are our focus for the next week or so.
HomeroomTomorrow is an early release day. It is also Spirit Day at MIS. Students are encouraged to wear MIS gear or something blue. After school is dismissed, stop by the Mooresville Creamery for a treat and to support MIS. MathStudents continue to work on positive and negative numbers. Today we also learned about coordinate grids. The Anchor Chart below is full of the information we discussed. Students have 5 review problems for homework, please see below. ScienceStudents had a work session today in which they were updating their science journals. This could be done digitally or in their hard copy journals. Reminder: tomorrow is a vocal quiz on the first set of vocabulary words in the ecosystem unit.
HomeroomTomorrow is Crazy Sock Day!! Students have a form to return along with $$ for their admission to the Wacky Tacky Dance on Friday. Yanke Candle SaleStudents have written direction on how to set up their on-line sale form for this fundraiser. MathStudents worked on some review problems for the quarter as a warm up today, followed by worksheet that support what we have been learning about integers. Tonights homework can be found below. HomeroomMonday starts Spirit Week at MIS! See the list below for daily themes. Wednesday is an Early Dismissal Day. Join other MIS students at the Mooresville Creamery for an ice cream treat that will benefit MIS. Friday - Plan ahead to attend the Wacky Tacky Dance!! MathWe continue to work on positive and negative numbers; understanding their meaning, locating them on a number line and looking at their meanings in real world situations. ScienceIn Science, we are exploring ecosystems; learning about how our environment continues to thrive on the energy of producers, consumers and decomposers.

MathStudents are continuing to work on positive and negative numbers, while reviewing division with fractions, all decimal operations, order of operations and exponents. Key Vocabulary for this unit:
ScienceIn Science, students worked on their Ecosystems foldable and on defining the new vocabulary for the unit. Both of these activities must be completed by class on Friday.

Homeroom: Students may continue to visit the book fair throughout the week, before and after school. Reminder to watch for Spirit Week details coming soon.MathStudents took their CFA on Fraction division today and did very well. I can tell that students are working hard to master the skills we are working on each week. Students need to remember to finish the Purple Homework Packet for Friday and continue to work on getting caught up on missing assignments. The Anchor charts for our current standard can be found by scrolling down through past entries!! ScienceScience classes are diligently working to gain a better understanding of ecosystems and all they encompass. Today's projects included creating a foldable note taking booklet created by students to organize details on the levels of organization of Ecosystems. Some students may need to work on this at home this evening.
HomeroomReminders: Student Financial statements for the OBX trip will come home by this Friday. The Bookfair is in full swing this week. Your student will get to shop during Media class or before/after school. MathToday we took a pre-assessment for our new unit on positive and negative numbers. Students were introduced to the topic during a short lesson. Students also worked on more practice with fractions and had a short amount of time to work their missing work. Students who still have a list of missing work need to be diligent in trying to complete a least one assignment each night along with their current work/homework. Students also have a PURPLE HOMEWORK packet this week that is due on Friday. Students, feel free to copy these into your notes!! HomeroomReminder to parents and students. Interim reports and the Genius hour letter that came home last Thursday, both need to be signed and returned asap! Deposits for the OBX trip were due today. Student financial statements will be sent home by Friday. The book fair is going on all this week in the Media Center. MathToday students were presented with a list of items that we have covered and were to be turned in over the last two weeks. Anything a particular student is missing in my garbed was highlighted. We had a work day today in class. But, anything else not completed in class is to be done at home. A copy of the sheet is pictured below. Please ask your student to share his/her sheet with you!!! ScienceStudents in my science classes also received the sheet above with any missing assignments highlighted. Again, any missing work is now to be completed as homework. Tomorrow we will be starting our unit on Ecosystems.
