MathStudents took their first quiz today and followed up by playing some fun math games with division. Students that did not turn in their math homework today have one last chance to get it in. Take a picture of the completed homework with your computer and email it to me: [email protected] ScienceStudents brainstormed about their Genius Hour projects. Students have a proposal for their project due by the end of Genius Hour next Friday.
HomeroomAll Pro Dads - Tomorrow Morning MathStudents have started using several digital tools this week. Students have been working on xtramath.com to improve their number fact recollection speed, MobyMax Math and iReady that allow students to work at their own pace and their placement level, and Blend Space which is a portal for teachers to list assignments and information for students. A link for our current math unit in blend space is : https://www.tes.com/lessons/XDBduuEsBSutXw/math-menu-for-6-ns-2 Tonight's Math HomeworkStudents will choose from the sheets below or on of the sheets from last night's options. ScienceStudents completed the third lab and lab report for Scientific Method. Tomorrow students will be working on Genius Hour in Science class. Students will be brain storming on how they can work together or independently to solve problems that they think exist within our school.
HomeroomFriday, Sept. 9th - All Pro Dad Breakfast MathStudents continue to work on bettering their understanding of the standard algorithm for long division. Students worked on multiple activities in class to practice their division calculations. Tonight's homework was student choice from the two worksheets (2-sided) below. If students felt they needed more calculation practice they were to choose worksheet B. If students felt comfortable with division calculations and wanted to move on to the abstract of word problems, students were to choose the word problem worksheet. ScienceStudents completed part two of their M&M science lab today. Students experimented with M&M's dissolving in different liquids. Students were to come up with a hypothesis based on previous knowledge of the types of liquid being used and then prove or disprove their hypothesis based on the data they collected with their group. Some of the students can be seen working in their groups below.
HomeroomStudents are reminded to PLEASE return the signed Title I compact by tomorrow. Mrs. Eisenhofer is required to turn all compacts in to the office by Wednesday!! MathStudents started the unit on the standard algorithm for division. Students were given a mini lesson on how to complete a division problem using the standard algorithm. students worked in small groups with Mrs. Eisenhofer to ensure a better understanding of the process. Our notes and an anchor start can be seen below. Tonight's homework can also be seen below. Students were given an opportunity to start this sheet in class and are asked to complete a few problems at home for practice. ScienceIn science, students complete labs that reinforced their comprehension of the scientific method. Students will complete part two of the lab tomorrow.
