Science:Students completed the inView testing during Science class today. We will resume Science class tomorrow with our Unit test on Matter.
Homeroom: Students are working on learning about and understanding the basic concepts of algebra. We continue to practice using the distributive property, combining like terms and assigning a value to a variable and solving. Students need to remember they have a practice worksheet to complete for homework. Science:In science, students presented their videos of experiments to the class for observation and to record data in their lab reports. Students should be preparing for their Science Unit Test this Wednesday.

Students also have an order of operations puzzle to complete for homework. ScienceIn science we are preparing for two labs that will be completed in class tomorrow. Students have been learning about Heat Transference this week. Yesterday and today in class, students completed Discovery Education assignments that involved watching videos, reading passages and virtual experiments that help with understanding. There was also an assessment. students may choose to review their answers and take additional notes and retake the assessment if they do not like their score. This must be completed before coming to school tomorrow.

Students practiced assigning a value to variables in equations. Second semester, it will be very important for students to continually review their clue words for the operations of math (+, -, x, ÷). IXL's are due tomorrow and Ten Marks are due Friday. Check your iCurio unit for a list of which IXL's and Ten Marks to complete. ScienceStudents are completing different activities applying their previous knowledge of heat transference from 5th grade. This week should be our final week working on Matter. Students should be checking their notes and preparing for the unit assessment on Matter. We continue to work on taking notes and preparing for writing our paper for the Gateway Project.

Feb. 3 - Early Release Day Feb. 12 - All Pro Dad @ 7:15 a.m. MathToday in math we revisited the concept of "Like Terms" in Algebra. Students need to be able to recognize when "like terms" exist in an expression or equation. In the future we will be combining like terms. Students should be working on their IXL's, Ten Marks and Buzz Math assignments at home for at least 20 minutes each night. ScienceIn science we finished up our unit on Physical vs. Chemical changes. Students worked with a partner to complete a Discovery Education assignment. Tomorrow, students will begin a short unit on Heat Transference. This is a topic that students should remember from 5th Grade. We will review what we already know and investigate a little further in this field.
