Students should be completing their 6.EE.6 and 6.EE.7 units. We will be starting a new unit in Math on Tuesday. Tonights homework can be found below. Social StudiesStudents are working on their family tree projects in class for the next two days. Anything not completed by the end of class on Tuesday will be considered homework. Students will be grading their peers on their projects during Wednesday's class.

Math:Students are continuing to master their pre-algebra skills; solving inequalities, finding the value of a variable and writing algebraic equations to solve real world problems. Students have a 10 problem word problem worksheet for homework. Science:Students continue to do research for their Gateway research paper. Some students have started their writing. Students have access to an iCurio unit that includes important information for writing their papers and doing their bi-weekly reflections.

Math:We continue to build on our algebra foundation with addition material and skills that apply our past lessons. This week, students will by applying their past knowledge of inequalities and substituting a value for a variable to solve word problems. Students should complete their inequalities worksheet for homework. Social StudiesThis week we are starting our first Social Studies unit during Science time. Students will be working on improving their Geography skills and learning about their own family history. Students will be looking for information from their parents and grandparents to help complete their own Family Trees. Below are the picture you need for the foldable we are creating in class. The Anchor charts you will need to reference during the unit are below.

Math:Students re-took the CFA and did much better this week then they did last week. Our review of the last two standards was successful! We will start fresh with new standards next week. Science:Students worked on their Genius Hour projects today. Our students have been charged with taking on a cause that is meaningful to them for their Genius hour project as well as their Gateway project. Both of these projects require multiple steps and dedication by the student.

This week we will be going back and reviewing and completing more practice activities to help with understanding. Those students that got it the first time through will be completing enrichment activities. Students have the sheet below for homework. Science:We had a special visitor today. Mr. E was our guest speaker in science. Teaching students the basics about neurology and answering a ton of questions, students were engaged and intrigued by his information about the brain.
